Family Law (1999)
One serious, yet light hour of intense drama.
This show is a far cry from others with similar themes. Sometimes I am shocked at the themes and other times I roll off the couch laughing at some of the hilarious dialogue. It blends humor along with touching and real-life stories. This is the best drama on television, for the time being. The cast is also great, but the story lines and plots are what make it such a good show. They are so unpredictable. I love this show!! :-)
Excellence in Journalism
Today's "Today" most likely holds the most dedicated journalists in any news media program. They can be these intense people delivering a striking news story and then turn around and be one of us. I can not help but be in awe at the dedication and I hold them in high esteem. That is why, Katie and Matt, Al and Ann, will always be the first on my TV.
100 Girls (2000)
This Move Was Terrible
Not only did it lack the backing of a major production company, it lacked life, luster, and any comical qualities. It was a movie about a self-centered jerk who selfishly attempts to find some girl whom he believes it "the one." I give it a three. I suggest you not waste your time watching it.
The Golden Girls (1985)
The Cast Compliment Works Wonders
Each member of the cast compliments each other. We've got Dorthy (Beatrice Arthur) whose sarcasm and one-liners are the best. Then we have Rose (Betty White) whose nieve sense doesn't come off as stupid humor, but rather is the kind of laughs we get when we think of our past (humorous) mistakes or embarrassing moments. We also have Blanch (Rue McClanahan) who has an incredibly self-centered nature that we can not help but laugh at, but we resent when we see it in others. Let's not forget Stan or Stanley (Herb Edelman)-my favorite character- who represents the loser in all of us. But instead of being down in the dumps about his bad fortune, his reaction is classically funny. Let's not forget Sophia (Estelle Getty), and for anyone who has seen this show, her character needs no explanation.
Simply the Best
"The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" is the funniest program on television. You simply can't beat him, he is the primary reason NBC is "Americas Late Night Leader" :-) I don't like the "new" set as much as the older one, but I think I can get used to it. If you haven't watched it, I suggest you do, it is an hour full of laughs.
Saturday Night Live (1975)
Why Does Everybody Always Forget Jane Curtin? :-(
Why is Jane Curtin never mentioned as one of the SNL "Greats." She was one of the original performers on SNL and performed many memorable skits such as the mother on the "Coneheads," and (in my opinion) the perfect anchor on "Weekend Update" simply because of her sarcastic mannerisms. So whenever you think of SNL, think of Jane Curtin. :-)
