Lucifer Bosses Talk Up 'Leftover' Standalone Episodes (Maze as 007?!), How They'll Fit Into Season 3

Lucifer fans need not worry about May’s cliffhanger ending not being addressed as soon as Season 3 arrives on Monday, Oct. 2 at 8/7c.

Back in March, it was announced that Season 2 of the Fox drama would run only 18 episodes, and that the final four to be filmed would get added onto this fall’s run. That news A) bummed out fans who already were enduring a prolonged springtime hiatus, and 2) raised some concern about how the episodes, previously reported to be standalone in nature, would fit into Season 3.

For example, some fretted that the aforementioned cliffhanger — in which Lucifer (played »

Matthew Goode Sinks His Teeth Into Vampire Drama A Discovery of Witches

Given his track record of sweeping the ladies off their feet (by way of The Good Wife and Downton Abbey), it was only a matter of time before Matthew Goode sprouted a pair of fangs.

Goode will star opposite Teresa Palmer — who has her own history of romancing the undead, thanks to 2013’s Warm Bodies — in A Discovery of Witches, an adaptation of Deborah Harkness’ internationally best-selling All Souls Trilogy. The story follows Oxford student Diana Bishop (Palmer), a descendant of the witches of Salem who becomes romantically involved with Matthew, a 1,500-year-old vampire.

Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams Channel Ned Stark in New Carpool Karaoke Video

“Do you remember when we used to read normal sentences, but like Sean Bean, like Ned Stark?” Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams asks her bestie/co-star Sophie Turner at the top of this Carpool Karaoke clip. And then things go rapidly, entertainingly downhill.

The video above, part of the Carpool episode available on Apple Music tonight, finds the Stark sister actresses running through “Hakuna Matata” from The Lion King and Six Mix A Lot’s “Baby Got Back” in the voice of the late, lamented Hand of the King. It gets weird. They get silly. There’s a Super Mario Bros. reference. »

Summer TV Winners & Losers: From Mighty Game of Thrones and Defenders to a Doubly Dissed Shakespeare

As summer enters its final weeks, it’s time to take stock of what burned hottest on the small screen and what plain ol’ flamed out. TV’s “winners” and “losers,” if you will.

Keep in mind that it’s hard for returning series to break from the summertime pack, short of experiencing a steep creative or ratings shift (in either direction). And there are instances where, say, Big Brother‘s winning ratings story is offset by a  snooze of a season. Not everyone gets a trophy.

That said, shows such as Game of Thrones, Twin Peaks, Glow and The Carmichael Show »

Kevin Can Wait Ep: We Killed Off Donna Out of 'Respect' for Erinn Hayes

Kevin Can Wait‘s controversial decision to kill off its leading lady was more than just creatively driven. It was also made out of respect for Donna’s portrayer Erinn Hayes, according to exec producer Rob Long.

“The goal was to give Kevin’s character a real drive and a real predicament [involving] how a family comes back together [after tragedy],” Long says. “Also, out of respect for the character of Donna — and certainly the way that Erinn Hayes portrayed her — it seemed like the only right and fair way to treat her character. »

Game of Thrones Season 7 Finale Title, Exact Length Revealed

The title of Sunday’s Game of Thrones episode — the Season 7 finale — is “The Dragon and the Wolf,” and those critters better hydrate, because they’ve got quite the extended running time.

The season-capping hour (plus!) will clock in at 79 minutes, 43 seconds, HBO announced Tuesday. For comparison, Sunday’s (also extended) “Beyond the Wall” ran 70 minutes.

Anyone with a pulse and even a passing Thrones interest will recognize the episode’s name as a reference to the Targaryen and Stark sigils, respectively. We can infer that it probably means something significant will transpire to and/or between Daenerys and Jon, »

Stranger Things Season 3 Already in the Works — And Season 4, Too?

Sounds like even stranger things will be heading to the small town of Hawkins soon enough.

Netflix’s 1980s sci-fi/horror series Stranger Things will return for a third season, according to a new interview with show creators the Duffer brothers in Vulture. (The streaming service hasn’t officially confirmed the renewal yet.) And their plans extend beyond Season 3, too: “We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out,” Ross Duffer says. That makes sense, considering the show’s adolescent cast; by that time, Mike and his Dungeons & Dragons-playing buddies could be old enough to rent a car. »

Maybe Westeros isn’t leak-proof, after all: The penultimate episode of Game of Thrones‘ seventh season was downroughly four percent in viewership from the previous week’s installment, which remains the series’ most-watched hour.

Still, the Episode 6 number is higher than Episode 4, aka “The Spoils of War,” which nabbed an impressive 10.2 million pairs of eyeballs.
