Fantastic Fest Review: Anna and the Apocalypse Is a Zombie Musical Blast
1 hour ago
What can one do within the zombie sub-genre that hasn't already been done? Perhaps there isn't a lot of room for invention within zombie movies themselves. But what if you decided to go all La La Land about it and make a zombie musical? And just for good measure, have it take place on Christmas. That is what director John McPhail's Anna and the Apocalypse does and damned if it isn't purely delightful. It's official everyone; the first ever zombie Christmas musical is a blast.
In Blazing Griffen's movie Anna and the Apocalypse, Anna's life is typical enough. She is getting ready to leave school and wants to go exploring, but her dad just wants her to go to college and have a bright future. She has boy problems, and boys have problems with her. Though, all in all, she's just a normal high school girl living a relatively normal life. »
Batman Battles Pennywise in It Mashup Trailer
2 hours ago
It is about to hit the fan. Again. Yesterday we got a Joker Vs. Pennywise fan trailer that was a short tease bringing the two villains together for the ultimate showdown. The Joker must have lost, cause now it looks like Pennywise is the new clown in town. And he's taking over Gotham. Out of the shadows comes Bruce Wayne to save the day. And it's the ultimate battle to the death. This two minute fan trailer gives us a lot more than yesterday's neat treat did. But let's be honest, we're all almost at the end of our rope when it comes to this damn dancing clown, right?
Sure, sure, Pennywise had a good run at the box office, with It breaking records for two weekends straight to beat The Exorcist as the biggest horror movie release of all time. But it's about time for Pennywise to jump back »
Ron Howard Gets Desperate, Goes Dangerous on Han Solo Set
2 hours ago
Director Ron Howard has continued his tradition of sharing photographs from the set of the still untitled Han Solo spin-off. But this time, things have gotten a lot darker as the new images have an ominous tone. This could be Howard teasing how he often does, but this could also be a real insight into the theme of the upcoming Star Wars spin-off. The prequel will deal with Han Solo's gritty past as a smuggler in the criminal underground, putting him into contact with some of the worst characters in the galaxy. In. the first photo, it almost looks like we're seeing Darth Vader's silohuette, as that kind of looks like his iconic helmet. But that's just too short to be the rumored Darth Vader, right?
In the new photos released recently, Howard has used the same caption in both: "Shooting a scene about desperate and dark times in the Galaxy. »
Ant Man 2 Director Begs Lucasfilm for Unaltered Star Wars Release
3 hours ago
Ant Man and the Wasp director Peyton Reed has taken to social media to beg Lucasfilm to release the unaltered, original 1977 version of Star Wars on Blu-ray, before it was even called A New Hope. Reed is not alone, many Star Wars fans were appalled in the late 1990s when George Lucas put out the "Special Editions" of the original trilogy and called it a day. Before home video and illegal downloads, fans had to wait for their favorite movies to get re-released in the theaters and A New Hope was re-released quite a few times after its initial 1977 run. But in 1997, Lucas forever altered the original trilogy and has refused to take them back to their unaltered state.
Lucas went in and made significant changes to the beloved movies, adding in CGI, extra sound effects, dialogue changes, and even adding additional scenes that were not present in the original releases. »

The Irishman is directed by Martin Scorsese and due for release in 2018. It also stars Al Pacino, Harvey Keitel, Ray Romano and Bobby Cannevale.
The Irishman is a return to the gangster movie genre for Scorsese and he's brought along some trusty old collaborators, going back as far as 1972. De Niro and Pesci both worked with the director on the iconic string of movies Raging Bull, Goodfellas, and Casino, »
Why Flash Gordon Reboot Has Been on Indefinite Hold
20 hours ago
Back in the spring of 2015, 20th Century Fox moved forward with its long-awaited Flash Gordon remake, setting director Matthew Vaughn at the helm, but we haven't heard anything about it since then. It turns out there's a very good reason for that, with Matthew Vaughn revealing in a new interview that he's still been working on it, but his original vision for the story was basically taken by Marvel's 2014 blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy. Here's what the director had to say below, when asked if he's still working on a Flash Gordon movie.
"Yeah, we've been working on it. For me, the only problem with Flash Gordon is Guardians (of the Galaxy) kind of stole what I would have liked to have done with it. You've got Star Wars, you've got Guardians, so you've got to have your own space opera, but you have to find something that can survive among these two very, »
Queen Movie Casts Shameless Star as Freddie Mercury's Boyfriend
20 hours ago
Aaron McCusker (Shameless) has officially signed on to portray Freddie Mercury's boyfriend, Jim Hutton, in the Queen movie called Bohemian Rhapsody. This news comes after it was revealed that Mike Myers is in talks to join the cast as an unknown character, which will bring Myers back full circle after the legendary performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" in 1991's Wayne's World. Brian Singer's Queen biopic has recently started filming and is moving along full steam ahead with the recent news announcing the casting of McCusker.
Jim Hutton was a large part of Freddie Mercury's private life during his final 6 years. He was Mercury's hairdresser as well as boyfriend and he took care of the late front man when he became sick due to complications from AIDS. Hutton was by Mercury's side when he passed and even gave him a wedding ring that he was wearing when he died. »

Is Godzilla Wearing Armor in This Latest Look at Godzilla 2?
Last month, Godzilla 2 director Mike Dougherty sent out a cryptic set photo hinting at a connection between this film and the original Godzilla that Toho created back in 1954. The director has finally re-emerged on social media to share another behind-the-scenes glimpse, which gives us a new look at the title monster, whose face is seen projected onto a large screen, above the cockpit of a plane. While the director wouldn't clarify any details about this particular shot, he did reveal that today is the 69th day of the production. And it very much looks like Godzilla is wearing some kind of protective armor in this shot, even though it is an early rendition used to give actors a point of reference.
Will we see Godzilla suiting up in a massive suit of armor to take on the three new monsters at the heart of this thriller? And if so, then »
Justice League Won't Beat Batman v Superman Box Office Opening?
With Warner Bros.' Justice League just under two months away from hitting theaters, the first box office projection has come in, which is certainly a good sign for the DC Extended Universe. While the Dceu's box office numbers have always been strong, the first two movies were bashed by critics, until Wonder Woman became a hit critically (92% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes) and commercially ($411.6 million domestic, $819.5 million worldwide). Now, with early Justice League reactions coming in quite positive, the first box office projection is pegging the superhero ensemble at a $150 million debut.
The projection comes from the latest long-range forecast from Box Office Pro, which projects a $150 million opening weekend and a domestic total of $333 million. The opening weekend tally would make it the second highest of all Dceu movies, behind the $166 million debut of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with the domestic take also the second largest among Dceu movies, »

Lex Luthor and Iris West Get Dropped from Justice League
22 hours ago
Rumors had been circulating for months that Jessie Eisenberg's portrayal of Lex Luthor had been cut from Justice League. Now new test screenings have confirmed that Lex Luthor and the Iris West character have both been given the axe. There has been a lot (to put it lightly) of speculation pertaining to Joss Whedon's take-over of Justice League after Zack Snyder had to bow out due to a family tragedy. Rumors have been swirling that Whedon went in and has totally remade the movie and cut out quite a bit.
Batman-News.com reports that Kiersey Clemons and Jessie Eisenberg have both been cut from Justice League test screenings. Clemons recently talked about her experience on set and mentioned that her scenes were, "f%$@ing sick," but we won't be seeing them any time soon unless Whedon does another edit before the movie hits theaters in November. Hopefully some of »
Canceled Twisted Metal Movie Almost Starred Nicolas Cage
23 hours ago
We've still yet to see a properly awesome video game movie, but Hollywood keeps on trying. There are plenty of video game movies that never came to be that could have been awesome, but we'll sadly never know. One such movie is Twisted Metal, which was going to be based on the Sony video game series of the same name. Now, director Brian Taylor (Crank) reveals what the movie would have been, and it would have involved Nicolas Cage with Mad Max: Fury Road style action.
Brian Taylor recently spoke with Collider about his Twisted Metal movie that never was. He was hired to do the movie in 2012, which just so happens to be when Sony launched a rebooted version of the game. As is usually the case with these things, the budget got in the way and prevented Taylor from doing what he wanted to do with it. Here's what he had to say. »
Warwick Davis' Han Solo Character Revealed
23 hours ago
We've known for quite some time that Warwick Davis will have a role in LucasFilm's Han Solo spin-off, but now a new report reveals exactly which character he's portraying. The iconic actor was featured in a Han Solo Omaze video this spring, where former directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller revealed a brand new alien creature, although no details about Davis' actual role have been revealed until now. While these details have not been confirmed, there may be Spoilers below, so read on at your own risk.
A new report from Making Star Wars reveals that Warwick Davis is playing a character called "Fight Droid 2." This report claims that this character puts a different spin on the power droid featured in the original trilogy, which was basically just a small walking rectangular-shaped box. The original power droids were not sophisticated machines, since their primary purpose was to recharge vehicles and machinery. »

Southern California television broadcasts were interrupted on Thursday morning when an ominous warning popped up on TV screens in Orange County. The emergency broadcast system went up, but with voices warning of "extremely violent times" as well as another voice speaking about Area 51 and Armageddon. The warnings were displayed for several minutes before regularly scheduled broadcasts came back on the screen. Many took to social media to share the eerie warnings and called cable providers to figure out what exactly had just happened.
The Orange County Register reports that multiple cable companies were effected and that they are all investigating to find out what happened. The first voice came on and said, "Realize this, extremely violent times will come," in a booming male baritone. One witness thought it sounded like Hitler speaking in English, noting that it sounded like a radio broadcast being pumped through her television set. Many witnesses »

Quentin Tarantino Is Open to Directing a Star Trek Movie
22 September 2017 12:06 PM, PDT
Quentin Tarantino is an increasingly rare breed in the modern Hollywood landscape. He's a true auteur director who makes the movies that he wants to make and they wind up being financially successful and award-worthy. Yet, somehow, he's never been coaxed by a big studio to direct a franchise entry of any kind. So what franchise might be able to change that? Star Trek, as it turns out, could possibly make Tarantino boldly go where he's never gone before.
TMZ caught up with Quentin Tarantino very briefly recently on his way to catch a flight. When asked if he would actually want to direct a Star Trek movie, he wouldn't totally rule it out. Here's what he had to say about it.
"It'd be worth taking a meeting about."
That isn't all that definitive, but the fact that Quentin Tarantino would take any of his time to even have a »
Stephen King's 1922 Trailer Teases Mike Patton's Spooky Score
22 September 2017 11:43 AM, PDT
Netflix has just released the first trailer for their adaptation of Stephen King's novella, 1922, which is set to debut next month. Not only does the trailer look creepy, but it also sounds unsettling, thanks to Mike Patton's fantastic soundtrack that recalls a twisted take on a Hitchcock score. In a recent interview to promote the incredibly successful It, King alerted fans that this adaptation was really special and that it really "creeped" him out when he saw the rough cut. The legendary horror author also mentioned that he couldn't stop thinking about it, which is a good indicator since he basically said the same thing about the big screen adaptation if It.
The first trailer for 1922 comes to us courtesy of the official Netflix YouTube account and it is an uncomfortable two and a half minutes to say the least. Adding to the uneasiness is the original score »

Schwarzenegger recently appeared in Birmingham, England for the Experience with Arnold Schwarzenegger convention where he gave away some more details about the upcoming reboot.
A representative from TerminatorFans.com was on hand for the Arnold convention and has reported that, according to Arnold Schwarzenegger, Terminator 6 will completely ignore the events of Genisys.
